Abstract:
This module for pressing pellets comprises a revolving barrel (2) in a casing that is sealed against radiation. The barrel is moved in a disjointed manner and stops at each of the work stations distributed around its circumference; it is stopped while the pellets are pressed and removed from the mould. This arrangement avoids the spreading of excessively poured powder, such that the latter can be almost entirely recovered by subsequent aspiration. Possible application to the manufacture of pellets of nuclear fuel.
