Abstract:
A monolithic substrate (200) has a porous substrate body (210), a first support section (240), a first cell-sealing section (250), a second support section (260), and a second cell-sealing section (270). The substrate body (210) has a plurality of cells (214) which each extend from a first end surface (211) to a second end surface (212). The first support section (240) contains ceramic as a skeleton, and is packed into a first end section (214S) of a sealing-target cell (214A). The first cell-sealing section (250) contains glass, and is positioned on the outermost surface (240S) of the first support section (240). The second support section (260) contains ceramic as a skeleton, and is packed into a second end section (214U) of the sealing-target cell (214A). The second cell-sealing section (270) contains glass, and is positioned on the outermost surface (260S) of the second support section (260).
