Abstract:
This motion compensation device (1170) performs motion compensation on a non-rectangular target block using a reference image stored in a frame memory (1140), and is provided with: a reference block memory (1171) for storing a part of the reference image; a frame memory transfer control unit (1172) which determines a rectangular pixel block in the reference image which contains a non-rectangular reference block used in motion compensation and transfers the pixel data of the determined pixel block from the frame memory (1140) to the reference block memory (1171); and a motion compensation processing unit (1174) which uses the reference block contained in the pixel block stored in the reference block memory (1171) to generate a prediction block of the target block.
