Abstract:
A motor drive apparatus is provided with: a plurality of inverter circuits (11, 21, 31) provided corresponding, respectively, to a plurality of motors (1, 2, 3); a control means (40, 50, 60) for controlling the inverter circuits using switching signals; and a detection means (44, 54, 64) for detecting current ripples generated by inverter-circuit switching operations. The control means operates in a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the transport-wave frequency of a standard transport wave used for generating the switching signals is defined as the same basic frequency (f0) for all of the motors. In the second mode, the transport-wave frequency is the basic frequency for motors with high priority, and is defined as a preset shift frequency (f1, f2) for motors with low priority. When a current ripple exceeds a prescribed value, the apparatus is switched from the first mode to the second mode.
