Title:
MULTI-PHASE TRANSVERSE FLUX MACHINE HAVING ANGLED BACK IRONS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/113654
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The aim of the invention is provide a transverse flux machine which is more simply mechanically designed. Said aim is achieved by providing a multi-phase transverse flux machine having a first active part (such as a rotor), which is occupied in alternation by magnets (8, 9) and flux collectors (7) along a movement path, and a second active part (such as a stator), which interacts magnetically with the first active part in order to cause said first active part to move and through which the first active part can be moved along the movement path. The flux collectors (7) in the first active part have a plane of symmetry, which is arranged perpendicularly to the movement path. The second active part comprises at least one chain of back irons (1, 2), said chain extending parallel to the movement path for each phase. Each of the back irons is angled relative to the movement path by a pole pitch.
