Description:

MULTI PURPOSE TABLE

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention relates to tables that integrate, within the same table, a dinner table, used in the furniture sector and on which desired items are placed and kept, and a billiards table.

The invention relates in particular to a multi-purpose table embodiment on which food is served when required and which enables billiards to be played when needed; which comprises a bottom slab positioned on feet and has a depth enabling billiards playing and which forms an area of movement for the balls and at least one top slab which causes the said table to become a dinner table and which is closed on the said bottom slab.

STATE OF THE ART

Along with the passage of mankind to modern life tables have become indispensable elements in homes. Tables, which are indispensable both for decorative and for functional purposes, can be found in numerous different constructions and shapes today. This variety of tables enables users to select the table which best suits their needs and satisfy such needs fully. As with every product produced in the furniture sector today, providing a multi-purpose use for tables as well carries great importance. Along with the requirement to use homes, cafes, and restaurants, which are living spaces, for multiple purposes, furniture have also started to be produced to be multi-purpose to suit such spaces. Especially billiards tables and similar tables for sporting purposes are desired to be used both at homes and in cafes, restaurants and many such places. However, because tables are used separately, either as a table or for playing billiards, in such spaces they take up a lot of space and this causes loss to the business owner. Customers do not prefer the site because it does not have available space or looks crowded.

Customers prefer other sites in this case and additionally, business owners are put to loss because they purchase a separate table for serving food and a separate table for billiards playing.

With the state of the art, in order to convert a billiards table to a dining table, portable and mobile slabs are placed each time on the table. This, in turn is not practical for use.

With the state of the art, when billiards tables in use are converted to dining tables, moving and installing the portable slabs cause loss of time and installation difficulties.

With the state of the art, in order to convert a billiards table into a dining table, top slabs are taken out of where they are stocked and carried. This, in turn, causes a separate place to be taken up by top slabs within the place.

With the state of the art, when the billiards tables used are converted to dining tables, the portable slabs are easily deformed during installation. This, in turn, reduces the useful life of the table.

With the state of the art, users that convert a billiards table into a dining table get directly injured in the event they let the top slabs fall.

With the state of the art, because children and young people play the billiards game in small, narrow spaces, they become unhealthy.

With the state of the art, because apartments in houses that are living spaces are small an additional billiards table cannot be bought.

Consequently, the inadequacy of existing solutions in the present state of the art, has made it necessary to bring an improvement in the related technical field that eliminates the disadvantages of billiards tables.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

Based on the state of the art the object of the invention is to solve the problems given above.

The object of the invention is to; enable the forming of multi-purpose tables on which desired objects are placed and food is eaten or which enable billiards and similar games to be played.

Another object of the invention is to; enable the formation of a multi-purpose table which provides saving of space.

Another object of the invention is to; enable cost reduction by forming a table embodiment as both a dining table and a table for playing billiards.

Another object of the invention is to; form a multi-purpose table embodiment opening and closing in a practical manner.

Another object of the invention is to; enable young people and children to engage in sporting activities in capacious and healthy spaces.

Another object of the invention is to; encourage sports at homes, in apartments by building tables that can be both dining table and enables playing billiards.

Another object of the invention is to; prevent the deformation of the table when being opened and closed.

Another object of the invention is to; enable the multi-purpose table to be made conveniently by one person without requiring any additional help.

In order to satisfy the above objects; the present invention relates to a multi-purpose table embodiment on which food is served when required, and which enables billiards to be played when needed; which comprises a bottom slab positioned on feet and has a depth enabling billiards playing and which forms an area of movement for the balls and at least one top slab which causes the said table to become a dinner table and which is closed on the said bottom slab.

The structural and characteristic properties of the invention and all its advantages shall be more clearly contemplated with the figures given below and the detailed description written with references to the said figures, and therefore, the evaluation needs to be made taken into consideration the said figures and the detailed description.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the multi-purpose table, which is the subject matter of the invention, are described only for a better understanding of the subject and in no way to bring any limitations

The invention relates to multi-purpose table embodiments which are used both as a dining table and as a billiards table as shown in figure-1 and figure-2. The present invention comprises at least one bottom slab (2) on feet (1) and at least one top slab (3) which is capable of opening and closing over the bottom slab (2) with and angle of 270 degrees. The said feet (1) carry the bottom slab (2) and the top slab (3) and prevent the table from rocking. At the same time, the said feet (1) ensure that the table remains stable. On the top face (7) on the feet (1) the bottom slab (2) is formed which enable sports such as billiards, checkers, chess and similar sports to be played. In figure-3 the two dimensional representative side view of the multi-purpose table, which is the subject matter of the invention, is shown when the top slabs are being opened (when being converted to a billiards table) and in figure-4 the side perspective view is given when the top slabs in the metal table, which is the subject matter of the invention, are in open position (when it is a billiards table).

The said bottom slab (2) forms the area on which billiards is played and the balls move. A depth sufficient for the balls to move is formed in the said bottom slab (2). Drawers (8) are formed on the side faces (5) of the said bottom slab. Top slabs (3) located on the right- and left-hand faces (5) of the said bottom slab (2) open 270 degrees in direction N and convert it into a billiards table. When the top slabs (3) are opened they are perpendicular to the ground. When the said top slabs (3) are lifted 270 degrees in direction A, on the other hand, the bottom slab top face (7) and the top slab back face (6) are brought on top of each other and it is converted to a dining table.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention the top slabs (3) are formed on top of the bottom slab (2) from the front and the back.

In figure-5 the representative perspective top view of the multi-purpose table, which is the subject matter of the invention, with its top slabs in open position is given while

in figure-6, the representative top view of an alternative embodiment of the multipurpose table, which is the subject matter of the invention given and in figure-7, the representative top view of another alternative embodiment of the multi-purpose table, which is the subject matter of the invention is given.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, table football, Air hockey, Backgammon, chess and checkers can be applied on the bottom slab (2).

The invention relates in particular to a multi-purpose tables; which is positioned on feet (1) and on which food is served when required and which enables billiards to be played when needed; which comprises a bottom slab (2) positioned on feet and has a depth enabling billiards playing and which forms an area of movement for the balls and at least one top slab (3) which causes the said table to become a dinner table and which is closed on the said bottom slab (2); a hinge (4) which enables the said top slab (3) to rotate and close on the said bottom slab (2); and as an alternative embodiment; a bottom slab (2) which enables sports such as table football, Air hockey, Backgammon, chess, checkers and similar games and sports and comprises drawers (8) on the bottom slab side faces (5) which enable items to be placed.

The scope of protection of this application is stated in the claims section and cannot be limited to those described above, given absolutely for the sake of example. It is evident that a person specialized in the technology can produce the innovation introduced with the invention by using similar embodiments and/or apply this embodiment to other fields with similar purposes in the related technology. Therefore it is also evident that such embodiments shall be bereft of the innovation criterion and particularly the criterion of exceeding the state of the art.
