Abstract:
Method and apparatus for obtaining high resolution images by a smartphone by combining separate images captured at in-plane deviations, each of which correspond to the separation of adjacent sensels in a Bayer-arrayed filtered image sensor in the smartphone. Image stabilization mechanism is not used. The deviations arise from hand shake of the human user and/or in response to indications provided to the user, which indicate the user to move the smartphone in a path which will result in deviations which match the sensel separation of the sensels needed.
