Abstract:
The present application provides a communication method and related apparatuses, being applied to the field of multicast, and especially relating to multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMSs). In said method, a terminal device receives at least one first data packet, which belongs to a first service and is sent in a transmission manner, from a target base station to which the terminal device is to be handed over, and receives first indication information from a first base station. According to the first indication information, part or all of the at least one first data packet is sent to an upper-layer entity of the terminal device. The target base station needs to exchange with a source base station the transmission progress of the two base stations for the first service, so as to determine the described at least one first data packet, and provide the first indication information to the terminal device. In this way, the continuity of the first service for the terminal device before and after handover can be ensured, improving service processing and communication performance.
