Abstract:
This invention pertains to an MCF that has a structure for the purposes of allowing more precise alignment. Said MCF is provided with a plurality of cores and cladding. The outer shape of said cladding in a cross section of the MCF comprises the following: a circular section that forms a circle that coincides with the outer circumference of the MCF; and a cutout section. Said cutout section comprises a bottom section and two contact sections that are provided on both sides of the bottom section and protrude farther than said bottom section. Looking at the side of the MCF, the two contact sections have flat surfaces, and said flat surfaces extend in the lengthwise direction of the MCF with the aforementioned bottom section interposed therebetween.
