Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multifocal video playback apparatus, a video service provision system using same, and a method therefor. The multifocal video playback apparatus comprises: a photographing unit for capturing focus images in different focus areas with respect to a preset photographing area by using at least one camera; an eye tracking sensor unit for tracking a user's gaze within the photographing area and providing gaze tracking results corresponding to the direction of the tracked user's gaze; a control unit for selecting representative images for each focus area according to preset criteria from among the focus images captured by the photographing unit, and selecting, as playback images, representative images, corresponding to a region of interest according to the gaze tracking results, from among the representative images for each focus area; and a display unit for outputting the representative images for each focus area, and then outputting the playback images selected by means of the control unit.
