Abstract:

A multiple pump fuel delivery system (107) is provided, which in one preferred embodiment includes a tank (162). Mounted within the tank (162) are multiple fuel pumps (124, 126). The fuel pumps (124, 126) have intakes connected to filters (148, 156). One pump may be connected to a fuel only passing filter (148), and another pump may be connected with a fuel-water mixture passing filter (156). Fuel from the outlets (128, 130) of the pumps is delivered past non-return check valves through a manifold (132). The manifold (132) is connected with a pressure regulator valve (134), which is fluidly communicative with the engine (170) of the vehicle. A relief outlet (138) is also provided to return excess fuel.
