Abstract:
Danger of traversing a plurality of lanes is prevented in case of entering a car
pool lane from a general driving lane or in the reverse case. A route searching
section (130) searches the route from a current position of a vehicle to a destination.
If a car pool lane is included in a route obtained as a result of search, a judgment
is made whether the distance from an entrance or an exit to or from a road provided
with a car pool lane to the entrance or exit of the car pool lane is longer than a predetermined
distance or not. If it is longer than the predetermined distance as a result of
judgment, a route including such road is adopted asa recommended route. Consequently,
such a situation as a vehicle enters the car pool lane by traversing a plurality
of lanes while it travels over a short distance can be prevented.
