Abstract:
In the present invention, when the excitation of a stepper motor starts, a control unit first positions the phase of an excitation signal at a prescribed excitation start position, subsequently moves back the phase of the excitation signal by a prescribed reverse angle so that a needle rotates in a reverse direction, and thereby positions the needle at a stopper position. The control unit then moves the phase of the excitation signal forward by an origin restoration angle and thereby rotates the needle in a positive direction from the stopper position to an origin position removed by a prescribed angle from the stopper position and positions the needle at the origin position. Here, the origin restoration angle is an angle arrived at by summing a backlash angle, a prescribed positive pre-offset angle, and a positive drive error correction angle set on the basis of the drive error of the needle in relation to the stopper. As a result, a needle-pointer-type meter device is provided that is capable of enhancing the freedom of driving error correction.
