Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a means for achieving both cycle durability and charging-discharging efficiency in an electrical device such as a lithium ion secondary battery. [Solution]A negative electrode active substance used in the electric device is characterized by: comprising a silicon-containing alloy having a ternary alloy composition represented by Si-Sn-Ti and having a structure including, dispersed in a parent phase that is a silicide phase containing TiSi2, an a-Si phase containing non-crystalline or low-crystallinity silicon wherein tin is in a solid solution within a silicon crystal structure; and satisfying the relationship S(2) > S(1) in a radial wave function observed by XAFS, where S(1) is the peak intensity of the Si-O bond peak observed at a position of 0.13 nm in inter-atomic distance, and S(2) is the peak intensity of the Si-Si bond peak observed at a position of 0.2 nm in inter-atomic distance.
