Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide the following: a negative electrode active substance for a secondary battery having excellent cycle properties, i.e., an improved charge-discharge capacity and capacity retention rate; and a method for producing the negative electrode active substance. Provided is a negative electrode active substance for a lithium ion secondary battery that comprises a silicon oxide: which contains Si, O and H obtained by heat treating, in an inert gas atmosphere, a hydrogen silsesquioxane polymer obtained by hydrolysis of an Si compound represented by formula (1) followed by condensation reaction of the same; in which the ratio (I1/I2), in the infrared spectrum, of the intensity (I1) of a peak 1 derived from Si-H at 820 to 920 cm-1 and the intensity (I2) of a peak 2 derived from Si-O-Si at 1000 to 1200 cm-1 is within a range of 0.01 to 0.35; and which is represented by general formula SiOxHy (1 < x < 1.8, 0.01 < y < 0.4). Also provided is a method for producing a negative electrode active substance for a lithium ion secondary battery. HSi(R)3 (1) (In the formula, R is a group selected from hydrogen, C1-10 alkoxy groups, and the like.)
