Abstract:
A network access method and access device, implementation examples of the method comprising: a first access device receiving a first message from a terminal device, wherein the first message carries first identification information, and the first access device does not support a high-layer protocol; and if the terminal device is allowed to access the network, the first access device sending a second message to the terminal device, wherein the second message carries second identification information, and the second identification information is the same as the first identification information. The terminal device as in embodiments of the present invention is capable of not using an LTE air interface in the process of accessing a network, preventing the issue whereby the terminal devices all using the LTE air interface to access the network causes the load of the LTE air interface to be excessively high. Therefore, the present invention may reduce load for LTE air interfaces, thereby reducing occurrences of random access channel collisions in LTE networks.
