Abstract:
Provided are: a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative having an indole structure bonded to a benzophenanthrene ring, indicated by formula (1); a material for organic electroluminescence elements using same; and an organic electroluminescence element and an electronic device using same. Provided is a novel material useful as an organic electroluminescence element material. [In formula (1), R1-R12 each independently indicate a hydrogen atom or a substituent group and two adjacent atoms/groups selected from R1-R12 can form a saturated or unsaturated bivalent group that mutually bond to form a ring. At least one group of two adjacent atoms/groups selected from R1-R12 mutually bond and form a ring structure indicated by formula (a). R13-R17 each independently indicate a hydrogen atom or a substituent group and two adjacent atoms/groups selected from R13-R17 can mutually bond and form a saturated or unsaturated bivalent group.]
