Abstract:
Disclosed is a nitrogen oxide sensing element wherein a sensing film (11) is formed on the surface of a base (12a), said sensing film (11) being composed of a polymer in which a porphyrin having cobalt as the central metal or/and a derivative having a porphyrin skeleton including cobalt as the central metal is/are dispersed alone or in combination.  Consequently, the nitrogen oxide sensing element can determine the concentration of nitrogen oxide with high precision and high sensitivity without having the cobalt porphyrin affected by reaction inhibitors, namely O2 and CO, even in the atmosphere.
