Abstract:
This cable interconnect unit is tubular, is disposed over the outer peripheral surface of a connecting part of a power cable, and includes: a tubular insulating tube; a non-ohmic resistive layer that is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the insulating tube and that is formed of a non-ohmic composition; and an inner semiconductive layer disposed over the non-ohmic resistive layer. The non-ohmic composition includes a base polymer containing a thermoplastic resin and/or a rubber, and non-ohmic varistor particles having a volume resistivity that changes non-linearly with respect to applied voltage. The varistor particles have a maximum particle diameter of 30 μm or less.
