Abstract:
The present invention relates to a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery (10) which is provided with: a positive electrode (1) which comprises a positive electrode collector (11) and a positive electrode active material layer (12) that is arranged on the surface of the positive electrode collector (11); a negative electrode (3) which comprises a negative electrode collector (31) and a negative electrode active material layer (32) that is arranged on the surface of the negative electrode collector (31); a nonaqueous electrolyte which contains lithium ions; a separator (2) which is arranged between the positive electrode (1) and the negative electrode (3); and a particle layer (4) which is arranged on one or both of the surface of the positive electrode (1) and the surface of the negative electrode (3). This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery (10) is configured such that the ratio of the specific surface areas A of the particles contained in the particle layer (4) to the specific surface areas B of the particles contained in the positive electrode active material layer (12), namely A/B is more than 0.2 but less than 1.5.
