Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a novel Mandevilla plant having a new shade of light blue that could previously not be bred. A carotenoid pigment is extracted from the petals of a candidate Mandevilla plant, and when neoxanthin or a derivative thereof is present in the carotenoid pigment extract, the plant is selected as a new Mandevilla plant.
