Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of stably molding a modified-section glass fiber. The nozzle for manufacturing a modified-section glass fiber pertaining to the present invention is a nozzle 5 for manufacturing a modified-section glass fiber, provided with a single non-circular nozzle hole 53 in a distal-end part from which molten glass flows, and is characterized in that a nozzle hole 53 has wide parts 53a disposed at both ends in a major-axis direction, and a narrow-width part 53b which is disposed between the wide parts 53a and has a minor-axis dimension smaller than the largest minor-axis dimension La of the wide parts 53a.
