Title:
NUCLIDE CONVERSION METHOD AND NUCLIDE CONVERSION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/115155
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This nuclide conversion method and nuclide conversion device, which increase the quantity of nuclides converted, are capable of nuclide conversion with a device that is relatively small-scale compared with large-scale devices such as accelerators and atomic reactors. This nuclide conversion device is provided with a structural body (1), and with a high deuterium concentration unit (2) and a low deuterium concentration unit (3) which are arranged to hold the structural body (1) from both sides. An electrolytic solution (16) containing heavy water is supplied to the high deuterium concentration unit (2), the electrolytic solution (16) is electrolyzed, generating deuterium and bringing about a state in which the deuterium concentration near the surface of the structural body (1) on the side of the high deuterium concentration unit (2) is high, and a state in which the deuterium concentration in the low deuterium concentration unit (3) is lower than that in the high deuterium concentration unit (2). Deuterium is transmitted through the structural body (1) from the high deuterium concentration unit (2) towards the low deuterium concentration unit (3), and the material to undergo nuclide conversion in the structural body (1) is nuclide-converted by means of the deuterium.
