Abstract:
A nutritional polypeptide having a branched structure and efficient broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal functions. The nutritional polypeptide having the branched structure is a polymer peptide which has a molecular weight of 3000-7000 Da and a polydispersity index of less than 1.2 and contains L-lysine and D-lysine structural units. The polypeptide having the branched structure has efficient broad-spectrum antimicrobial effects against bacteria, fungi and mycoplasmas at a low concentration, and does not generate drug resistance. Compared with common antimicrobial agents, the polypeptide has an excellent biocompatibility, no cytotoxicity, and no side effects on animals after intravenous injection, and can meet the antimicrobial requirements of intravenous injection in vivo. The degradation product of the polypeptide is lysine, which is an essential nutrient for organisms, and has no toxic or side effects. The polypeptide having the branched structure does not require a biological fermentation process, is completely chemically synthesized, has stable physical, chemical and biological properties, and can be combined with other materials by means of physical or chemical methods to synthesize or process same into various forms of materials while maintaining efficient antimicrobial properties.
