Abstract:
Provided are an object detection device and an object detection method such that the precision of detecting a detection object from inputted data can be improved. An object detection device (10) comprises: a multi-level data generation unit (152) which generates, from input data which is acquired from a data input unit (150), a plurality of instances of data each with a different information level, which is the extent to which a detection object is expressed; an evaluation value computation unit (153) which computes, for each of the plurality of instances of data, an evaluation value which represents the degree of similarity to the detection object; and an object determination unit (154) which, when an increasing degree by which the evaluation value which is computed for each of the plurality of instances of data with different information levels increases as the increase of the information level is greater than or equal to a lower bound value of the increasing degree when the detection object is included in the input data, determines that the detection object is included in the input data.
