Abstract:

Provided are an observation device, an observation method, and an observation program, with which it is possible to acquire aligned partial images without taking images again. This observation device comprises: an imaging unit 37 for imaging a container 20, in which an object to be observed is housed in a housing unit 22, and the object to be observed, at a predetermined imaging position with a field of view smaller than the housing unit 22 to acquire a series of partial images; a movement unit 12 for moving at least one of the container 20 and the imaging unit 37 relative to the other; a calculation unit 44 for calculating partial shape information indicating the partial shape of the container 20 from the partial images obtained by imaging by the imaging unit 37; a storage unit 45 for storing reference shape information indicating the shape of the container 20; and a control unit 40 for correcting, on the basis of the partial shape information and the reference shape information, an imaging position for taking a partial image scheduled to be taken next during the acquisition of the series of partial images, and causing the imaging unit 37 to take the partial image on the basis of the corrected imaging position.
