Abstract:
An obstacle detection device is provided with a plurality of ultrasound sensors (5) and a detection control unit (3). The detection control unit detects an object by using one or more of the at least two ultrasound sensors as transmission sensors for transmitting ultrasound and the other sensor or sensors as reception sensors for receiving ultrasound that has been transmitted by the transmission sensors and reflected. The difference between the height from the ground at which the ultrasound sensors used as transmission sensors are attached to the vehicle surface and the height from the ground at which the ultrasound sensors used as reception sensors are attached to the vehicle surface is a prescribed threshold height based on the height defined as a level difference in the ground surface that is not to be detected multiplied by two.
