Abstract:
The present invention provides: a simple production method for an optical anisotropic layer which has, in the thickness direction, a plurality of regions in which the alignment states of a liquid crystal compound are fixed and the alignment states of the liquid crystal compound are different from one another; a laminate production method; a polarizer-equipped optical anisotropic layer production method; a polarizer-equipped laminate production method; a composition; and an optical anisotropic layer. This optical anisotropic layer production method comprises: a step 1 in which a composition layer that includes a polymerizable liquid crystalline compound and a chiral agent comprising at least a photosensitive chiral agent is formed on a substrate; a step 2 in which the composition layer undergoes heat treatment so as to align the liquid crystalline compound in the composition layer; a step 3 in which, after step 2, the composition layer undergoes irradiation with light under a condition in which the oxygen concentration is 1 vol% or more; and a step 4 in which the composition layer undergoes curing treatment to form an optical anisotropic layer, the production method further comprising a step 5 for performing step 3 under a heated condition or for applying heat on the composition layer in between step 3 and step 4. The total contained amount of the chiral agent is set to a predetermined amount.
