Abstract:
This optical communication system (200) comprises: optical transmission devices (10-1 to 10-N) that convert first data signals, which are electrical signals, into a plurality of packet signals being optical signals; optical couplers (20-1 to 20-LM) that multiplex the plurality of packet signals being optical signals, fork the same into a plurality of transmission signals being optical signals, and output the transmission signals; optical reception devices (70-1 to 70-N) that receive the transmission signals being optical signals, convert the same into second data signals, which are electrical signals, and output the second data signals; and a control unit (100) that controls the operation of the optical transmission devices (10-1 to 10-N) and the optical reception devices (70-1 to 70-N), wherein the optical transmission devices (10-1 to 10-N) transmit the plurality of packet signals being optical signals by allocating communication resources such that there are no collisions with packet signals being optical signals transmitted from other optical transmission devices, and the optical reception devices (70-1 to 70-N) convert the transmission signals being optical signals into transmission signals being electrical signals, select designated signal portions, and output the portions as the second data signals.
