Abstract:
The present invention relates to an optical communication system and a method therefor and, particularly, to an optical communication system which is capable of performing optical communication without an additional device by using an illumination sensor of a terminal, and a method therefor. The optical communication system, according to the present invention, comprises: a flashing light source; an illumination sensor for recognizing an illumination variation according to a flashing state of the light source; and a data conversion module for demodulating the illumination variation recognized by the illumination sensor. The optical communication method, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: modulating, by a data modulation module, data stored in a data storage module so as to convert the data into visible light; recognizing the visible light by the illumination sensor of the terminal; and demodulating, by a demodulation module, the visible light recognized by the illumination sensor.
