Abstract:
This optical connection component comprises: a plurality of types of optical fibers; a plurality of high refractive index contrast optical fibers which demonstrate a greater difference in refractive index between the core and the cladding than that of the plurality of types of optical fibers and which are fusion spliced with the plurality of types of optical fibers; and an affixing component that has a plurality of V-shaped grooves for receiving each of the plurality of high refractive index contrast optical fibers in a stripped state, the affixing component affixing the relative position between the plurality of high refractive index contrast optical fibers and an optical element when the plurality of high refractive index contrast optical fibers having been fusion spliced with the plurality of types of optical fibers are to be optically coupled to the optical element. The plurality of high refractive index contrast optical fibers belong to the same type.
