Abstract:
[Problem] To enhance a holding force of an optical cable. [Solution] This optical connector is provided with: a holding member that holds an optical cable having a jacket for covering an optical fiber; and a housing that has a fixing part for fixing the holding member. The holding member has a body part having a pair of side wall sections with projections formed on internal surfaces thereof, and a cap attached to the body part. By sliding the cap with respect to the body part, the external surfaces of the side wall sections are pressed onto the internal surface of the cap, and the projections are caused to bite into the jacket of the optical cable, whereby the holding member is caused to hold the optical cable.
