Abstract:
The reflectance at the wavelength of fluorescence emitted from a florescent material is decreased without making a distributed Bragg reflector having a complicated multilayer film structure. In an optical device provided with a distributed Bragg reflector having a laminated body in which a plurality of low-refractive-index films formed of a first material with a first thickness and a plurality of high-refractive-index films formed of a second material with a second thickness are alternately laminated, an adjacent medium neighboring the distributed Bragg reflector has a lower refractive index than the second material, and the distributed Bragg reflector has an additional film that is formed of the second material and that is formed between the laminated body and the adjacent medium with a smaller thickness than the second thickness.
