Abstract:
A multilayer optical disk and a multilayer optical disk recording and playback device are provided in which tracking of a given recording layer can be performed reliably on a guide track on a servo layer when recording and playback light and servo light have different wavelengths and/or the recording layer has a density corresponding to a Blu-ray Disc (registered trademark) and the working distance of the objective lens is not satisfied by the distance from an optical disk surface to the servo layer. In the present invention, a pre-write area is provided on a recording layer, information obtained via playback of the pre-write area using recording and playback light is compared to information obtained via playback of a guide track on a servo layer using servo light, and optical axis deviation of the recording and playback light and the servo light can be corrected by correcting the optical axis of the recording and playback light in the comparison.
