Abstract:
In order to reduce the processing cost of an elastic member and precisely drive an optical fiber, this optical fiber scanner (6) is provided with: an optical fiber (9) which emits, from a distal end part (9a), light guided from a proximal end side; a columnar elastic member (11) having, in a central portion thereof, a through-hole (10) through which the optical fiber (9) is inserted in the lengthwise direction thereof; and a first piezoelectric element (12) and a second piezoelectric element (13) which are plate-shaped and fixed to both side surfaces of the elastic member (11) in which the optical fiber (9) is inserted in a first radial direction. The first piezoelectric element (12) is provided with a piezoelectric active region having a single polarization direction in the plate thickness direction, and the second piezoelectric element (13) is provided with two piezoelectric active regions which respectively have two polarization directions that are opposite directions along the plate thickness direction, the two piezoelectric active regions being arranged in a second radial direction perpendicular to the first radial direction.
