Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical fiber testing method, an optical fiber testing device, and a program that enable detection of the boundaries of optical fiber line facilities without dependence on a change of a noise amount. The changed amount (differential value) of an OTDR waveform is greater toward a far end because of influence of noise, and it becomes difficult to decide the boundaries of optical fibers by means of the changed amount. Therefore, the present invention decides the boundaries of optical fibers by also using the OTDR waveform variance that becomes greater toward a far end because of influence of noise. That is, the present invention determines the boundaries of optical fibers by expressing a noise amount with variance and comparing this variance, as a threshold value, with a changed amount such as a differential value. With this configuration, when noise has increased, the threshold value becomes higher in accordance with the increase of the changed amount, whereby the boundaries of the optical fibers can be determined regardless of noise.
