Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an optical film having excellent film strength. This optical film is characterized by having an optically anisotropic layer comprising a polymer yielded from the polymerization, in an oriented state, of a polymerizable liquid crystal compound having one or more polymerizable functional groups, wherein the number of oriented defects whereof the actual size is between 0.3 µm and 50 µm inclusive, per 1 mm2 in the optically anisotropic layer, satisfies 0 ≤ number of oriented defects [counts] ≤ 14.
