Abstract:
Provided is an optical information recording medium, which does not need to be initialized and has excellent signal qualities in high density recording. The optical information recording medium is provided with a recording film (4) on which information is to be recorded by means of optical beam irradiation. The recording film (4) contains Ge, Bi and 50 at% or more of Te, and has: a first recording film section (411), which is formed in the surface direction, and has a Bi content of 15 at% or more; a second recording film section (412), which is formed in the surface direction on the side to be irradiated with the optical beam, and which has a Bi content less than that of the first recording film section (411) by 10 at% or more; and an intermediate recording film section (413), which is provided between the first recording film section (411) and the second recording film section (412) for the purpose of making gradual the changes of a Bi content in the film thickness direction between the first recoding film section (411) and the second recording film section (412), and which has a Bi content more than the Bi content of the second recording film section (412) but less than the Bi content of the first recording film section (411).
