Abstract:
An optical medium reproduction device that optically reproduces an optical medium on which multiple tracks are formed, said optical medium reproduction device having: a detection unit that divides the cross section of a beam returning from the optical medium into at least one channel corresponding to an outside region in a radial direction, at least one channel corresponding to a region having a different position in a tangential direction, and one channel corresponding to a region other than the aforementioned regions, and that forms detection signals for each of the channels; a multi-input equalizer unit that has multiple equalizer units to each of which the detection signal from one of the multiple channels is supplied respectively, and that outputs an equalization signal by calculating the outputs of the multiple equalization units, and sets the phase difference between two regions to a prescribed value; and a binarization unit that obtains binary data by performing a binarization process for the equalization signal.
