Abstract:
[Problem] To enable favorable appending while suppressing to a minimum a decrease in recording capacity of an optical disc. [Solution] The optical recording method records to an optical disc having: a recording layer that can record data; and a guide layer such that a groove guide track and a land guide track for tracking are provided as a double-spiral track. With one of the land guide track or the groove guide track as a first guide track and the other as a second guide track, data is continuously recorded as a first data track to the recording layer by means of tracking control with the first guide track as the subject, and after completing recording of the first data track for the entire length of the first guide track, there is a switch to tracking control having the second guide track as the subject and data is recorded as a second data track to the recording layer.
