Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a novel low-refractive-index optical thin film which can be formed by a wet film-forming method that does not require heat baking. [Solution] An optical thin film formed on the optical surface of an optical substrate contains crystalline MgF2 particles and a hardened material of a first active energy ray-curable resin composition that is present between the crystalline MgF2 particles, and has a lower refractive index than the refractive index of the optical substrate. Also provided is a multilayer optical thin film, which has a resin layer containing the optical thin film and a hardened material of a second energy ray-curable resin composition that is formed between the optical thin film and the optical surface, wherein the optical thin film is the outermost layer. Further provided is an optical element containing the optical substrate having an optical surface, and the optical thin film formed on the optical surface.
