Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to flexibly control rays of dummy light included in a wavelength division multiplexed optical signal and suppress signal quality degradation. An optical signal adjustment unit (1) is configured to be capable of receiving an input of a plurality of optical signals of different wavelengths, and adjusts the strengths of each of the plurality of optical signals on the basis of strength fluctuations in a transmission path and outputs same. A dummy light output unit (2) outputs a plurality of rays of dummy light (D) of different wavelengths at strengths based on strength fluctuations in the transmission path. A control unit (4) specifies the rays of dummy light which correspond to each of the optical signals, and controls the strengths of the specified rays of dummy light on the basis of the strengths of the optical signals which are outputted from the optical signal adjustment unit (1) and which correspond to the specified rays of dummy light. A combiner unit (3) outputs a wavelength division multiplexed optical signal (L) in which the rays of dummy light (D) are combined with an optical signal (L10) outputted from the optical signal adjustment unit.
