Abstract:
In this optical transmission system, a plurality of optical transmission and reception devices carry out one-to-N (where N is an integer greater than or equal to 1) transmission and reception of optical signals. In this optical transmission system, transmission conditions, which are for transmission and reception between optical transmission and reception devices and at least include a modulation method or baud rate, are selected according to transmission line conditions between a single first optical transmission and reception device and N second optical transmission and reception devices other than the first optical transmission and reception device that the first optical transmission and reception device is connected to.
