Title:
OPTICAL UNIT AND LIGHT IRRADIATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/013563
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An optical unit eliminating the need of alignment between a rod lens and a condensing lens, requiring fewer molding processes and components, and being capable of improving assembling work efficiency and reducing costs. The optical unit comprises a condensing unit (41) and a light transmitting unit (42) integrally formed on the tip end side of the condensing unit (41) and having its axis agreeing with that of the condensing unit (41). The condensing unit (41), forming a rotation body shape around an optical axis C that diverges from the base end toward the tip end, comprises a recess (43) opened in the base end surface (41a) to house a light emitting element (21), a side peripheral surface (41c) for reflecting light from the light emitting element (21) inwardly, and a tip end surface (41b) conducting light from the light emitting element (21) to a light transmitting unit (42). The light transmitting unit (42), forming an almost cylindrical shape, comprises a base end surface (42a) for introducing light from the condensing unit (41), a side peripheral surface (42c) for reflecting inwardly light introduced via the base end surface (42a), and a tip end surface (42b) for emitting light introduced via the base end surface (42a) to the outside.
