Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide: an optical waveguide module that has a low optical coupling loss between an optical element and an optical waveguide, and that is capable of high quality optical communication; a method for producing the optical waveguide module that can efficiently produce the optical waveguide module; and an electronic apparatus that is provided with the optical waveguide module and that is capable of high quality optical communication. The optical waveguide module is characterized by having: an optical waveguide provided with a core section, a cladding section provided in a manner so as to cover the side surface of the core section, and an optical path conversion section that converts the optical path of the core section to the outside of the cladding section; an optical element provided to the outside of the cladding section; a substrate provided between the optical waveguide and the optical element and that is provided with a through-hole that is formed along the optical path that connects the optical path conversion section and the optical element; and a transparent sealing section that is provided to the gap between the optical element and the substrate. The optical waveguide module is further characterized by a portion of the sealing section being inserted into the through-hole, and the inserted portion configuring a lens that causes the convergence of the signal light passing through the optical path.
