Abstract:
Provided is a novel optically active bisphosphine methane that is useful as a ligand for an asymmetric catalyst, has excellent oxidation resistance in the air, and is easy to handle. Also, provided is a transition metal complex using, as a ligand, an optically active bisphosphine methane having an excellent asymmetric catalytic ability. This optically active bisphosphino methane is represented by general formula (1), and this transition metal catalyst contains the optically active bisphosphino methane as a ligand. (In the formula, R1 represents an adamantyl group, R2 represents a branched alkyl group having three or more carbon atoms, and * represents an asymmetric center on the phosphorus atom.)
