Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an organic EL display device which can suppress a change in color tone when a white display is viewed from the oblique direction. An organic EL display device according to the present invention comprises an organic EL display element and a light absorption anisotropic layer, wherein: the light absorption anisotropic layer is formed using a composition containing a liquid crystalline compound and a dichroic substance; an angle, which is formed by the transmittance central axis of the light absorption anisotropic layer and the normal line on the layer plane of the light absorption anisotropic layer, is 0-45º; and A(λ) of the light absorption anisotropic layer represented by expression (1) is 15-225 nm at the maximum absorption wavelength of the light absorption anisotropic layer.
