Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an organic electroluminescent element which uses a light-scattering hole injection/transport layer that can be easily formed by coating or the like and has excellent light extraction efficiency. An organic electroluminescent element of the present invention comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and at least one layer that is formed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode and is selected from among a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer. Particles are dispersed in at least one layer that is selected from among a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer, and the least one layer that is selected from among a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer has a thickness of from 100 nm to 1,000 nm (inclusive).
