Abstract:
The present invention relates to an out-of-reactor cooling apparatus for a corium. The out-of-reactor cooling apparatus comprises: a corium confinement chamber which surrounds a reactor and includes a side wall and a lower wall which directly contacts a falling corium; and an intermediate tank, located outside the corium confinement chamber, for accommodating cooling water, wherein a cooling water flow passage is formed in the side wall, the cooling water flow passage being connected to the intermediate tank in order to add cooling water from the intermediate tank to the corium.
