Title:
OVER-SAMPLING TYPE A/D CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1996/025800
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An over-sampling type A/D converter whose sampling frequency is higher than the frequency of the signal at the final stage. The area occupied by the chips and the power consumption are not increased even though the order of integration for noise shaping is raised. The A/D converter is provided with a plurality of capacitors (C1-C4) which are used for analog signal integration and a plurality of switches (SW6-SW21) which switch the terminals of the capacitors (C1-C4) so that a single operational amplifier (AMP 1) can execute multiple times of analog signal integration operations corresponding to the order of the analog integration for noise shaping. Thus the number of operational amplifiers required for analog integration is decreased to one.
